LCV development team is responsible for base combustion, performance, exhaust emission and OBD application of light duty vehicles. Engineers conduct tests on engine test benches, on chassis dyno and on public road. Based on the results the engineers improve the ECU calibration of 1.9L RZ4E and 3.0L 4JJ1 engine. LCV development team is also responsible to conduct type approval tests.
Base combustion and emission development
Tests are conducted on engine testbench and chasis dyno to improve emission performance, fuel consumption and combustion noise.
Driveability and environmental application development
Tests are conducted on chasis dyno and on public road to offer customer good driveability and cold start performance. Driveability team adjust the base performance and emission calibration to various altitude and temperature conditions.
OBD development work
On-Bord diagnosis is required by regulation to monitor emission relevant systems. The system indicates malfunction which can lead to increased emissions or to engine damage to the driver. OBD development team conduct tests on chassis dyno, on public road and on testbench to adjust the OBD-related ECU calibration.
